How do I export text when exporting to sdf?

Hi Stacey....We use the subscription program for CAD software (regular AutoCAD). We had problems with 2009 so I removed it. We received 2010 and I am hesitant to load it based on our computers (whether they have the necessary resourses to use the new software). This is an example of one of our computers: DELL OPTIPLEX GX745, Intel RCORE 6400@2.13 Ghz, 3GB of RAM Will 2010 run well on this type of computer or will it run slow?

I have a lot of data exported to Autocad and everything comes out to layer 0. I need to move all that data onto another layer. Is there a fast and easy way to do this? I use ACADMap 2009. The files are all quite large. Thanks for any help.

Stacy, In regards to auto-numbering when copying a layout, is it possible to change the format of the auto-numbering? rather than 'Layout 1" becoming 'Layout 1(1), something like 'Layout 1 - 1'. Thank you!

Command abbreviations give me "unknown command' , cannot load linetypes or hatch . Some 3d commands and 2d commands do not work at all

Hi Stacey. I recently started using AutoCAD again and am having a problem with Mechanical 2010. When I use the STRETCH command, select the upper right corner of the crossing selection window, then ZOOM in to the area where I select the lower left corner, the STRETCH command only recognizes objects in the zoomed in view. It’s as if the ZOOM command is not working transparently. If I use STRETCH without a zoom, everything works as I expect it too.

I've developed several tool pallettes to share on the network. At times, I'll make changes to those pallettes or make a new pallette. The new pallette or changes will show up on my computer as well as others. Fine. The next day, the changes are gone. I keep the pallettes in a read only area of the network. What do I need to do to get the changes to 'stick'?

How can I save my Inventor DWG in Model Space, not just Paper Space.

Hi Stacey, Impressions 3 for me, is very unstable. I can import floor plans OK, but any elevations and or 3d views crash the program on attempting to import them. I have tried purging and or auditing the AutoCad file prior to loading it into Impressions, but to no avail. AutoCad 2010 Impressions 3 Windows 7 64bit 8gb ram ATI Video Card Any clues? Thanks Ian

hi i am using autocad 2009 and windows 7 in th edrawing area the mouse(pointer) moves erratic and makes it difficult to use above the drawing in toolbars etc it works fine in all other apps on computer it works fine i have seen this problem on other blogs and no one can fix is it a w7 problem or driver desperate need of help

Hi Stacey. Two questions. 1. My company uses romans.shx and romand.shx fonts but we need to be able to produce text searchable pdfs. Not all TTF fonts are supported in text searchable pdfs so where can I find a list of fonts that are. 2. When I create a dwfx file with ACAD 2010 the text search does not work. Is the dwfx behavior the same as pdf in that only certain TTF fonts are text searchable?

Hello, I'm adding dimensions and text to a 3D model. The text appears soild on screen, yet when I go to plot preview it becomes just an outline that's not filled in with solid color? Any advice?

Hi Stacey, I have a problem with "Design Review 2010". If I try to open a file from the Design Review, program crashes and I do not allow any operation, the window is blocked. the only way to open a file for design review is to click directly to the file itself (dwf, dwfx, ecc). Which may be the problem? THANK YOU

Hi Stacey, I use AutoCAD 2010 and quite often the Model/Paper tab along the bottom will disappear. It used to drive me nuts until I learned how to get it to reappear. Now it is more of an annoyance than anything. Is there a setting to make it not disappear?
